National Unity Party (UBP) Group Deputy Chairman, MP Ahmet Savaşan, Describing the party's congress process as “magnificent”, he stated that the UBP's 23rd Ordinary Congress was the ’biggest and most impressive“ party congress in the political history of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
According to the statement made by UBP, Savaşan made evaluations about the completed 23rd Ordinary Congress on his personal social media account.
Savaşan said, “As a UBP member, we cannot be proud enough. While our party has successfully completed another congress, it has experienced a process worthy of itself and has signed the most magnificent of the party congresses that have ever taken place in the TRNC.”.
Stating that the congress process is not just an election Ahmet Savaşan, He noted that this process, which lasted over two months, showed the size and strength of the party. Especially the re-election of Unal Üstel’s work, Savaşan emphasized that it was no coincidence that Üstel was elected president with 66 percent of the vote.
Savaşan said, “This success is the inevitable result of Mr. Üstel's sacrifice and hard work. I congratulate him and emphasize that we will take his determination as an example on this path.”.
Drawing attention to the pioneering role of the UBP in the development of the TRNC, Savaşan noted that the congress process once again showed that the UBP has gained the trust of the people.
